It’s time for another chance to showcase your writing skills to two people completely unqualified to judge them: the always cantankerous Ben Corman and me. So if you are interested in working on your writing, email your 1,000 words or less* short fiction piece to RDobrenski@gmail.com. Please send the story in the body of the email as opposed to an attachment. No topic restrictions whatsoever, just make it fictional, mind the word count and get it to me by Thursday, December 1st.

Last year we received tons of great submissions and were able to promote multiple winners. This year, however, we’re going to make it tougher. One winner (who will not be Ben or me, even though we will also participate) will be selected and lauded as a kickass writer on this site. The winner will also get two autographed copies of ‘Crazy’ (one for you and one to give as a gift). We will have some Honorable Mentions as well.

Good luck, we are looking forward to reading your work.

* Last time we went with 850 words, but Ben fucking cheated and wrote 1,000. So we’ll level the playing field this time.

I would totally participate and just might if I finish my NaNoWrimo project before the deadline for your contest. Alternatively, I might just give you guys a thousand words in the middle of everything. Either way, I’m commenting because writing contests are awesome, and you might consider submitting yours to FundsForWriters. It’s free whether you’re advertising or subscribing and would definitely attract people to your site a little more.

  2. Corman says:

You realize that this means I’m going to write 1250 words.
